Featured in Dwell, the LEED Gold-certified Pine Needles Project is a masterful homage to mid-century modern design, functioning as a glamorous, secluded treehouse just blocks from the Del Mar coast. The design meticulously blurs the lines between indoors and out, utilizing floor-to-ceiling glass and dual interior atriums to flood the space with natural light and frame the picturesque, sandstone-filled lot. Inside, environmentally conscious materials create a striking visual balance, with rich woods contrasting beautifully against black post-and-beam architecture and a natural stone fireplace. The open, family-style kitchen is anchored by a massive marble countertop, flowing effortlessly into living spaces outfitted with bespoke built-ins and carefully curated furnishings that celebrate the mid-century era without feeling kitschy, resulting in a beautifully cohesive sanctuary.
