WEST COAST RESETInterior Design/Decor
A 1968 mid-century modern home by Simpson & Gerber Architects was completely reimagined, blending preservation with a fresh California modern sensibility. While iconic elements like the spiral staircase, FireHood fireplace, and Coke bottle window were retained, the interior was fully gutted to introduce oak floors, expanded upper-level living with new bedrooms and baths, and improved flow—especially in the kitchen, where open shelving enhances sightlines. The design balances vintage and contemporary with pieces like the Tacchini Sesann sofa and Pierre Paulin’s Groovy Chair, alongside custom abstract art. Outside, restored siding, a courtyard plunge pool, outdoor dining, and lush landscaping complete the transformation into a refined, light-filled retreat.
